Within the later releases of Anzio Lite and AnzioWin, we support both modem connections (over TAPI) and direct serial connections (direct to the modem). Most recent fax software uses TAPI to talk to the modem. Trying to connect serially to the modem will detect that the modem is in use or unavailable (since the TAPI Windows drivers have it in use). Set Anzio to use Modem (TAPI) rather than serial and the problem should be solved. TAPI is also what is used by Internet (dial-up networking) software and it can co-exist with the fax software, as can Anzio when set the same way.
